Who I help
Emotional concerns are common in the aging population. These concerns are frequently under-recognized. Counseling meets people where they are with compassion and practical support.
Persistent low mood, loss of interest, or feeling that the days have lost their color.
Excessive worry, restlessness, or fear that makes it hard to settle and feel safe.
Mourning a spouse, family member, or friends — and the many smaller losses that come with them.
Difficulty adapting when independence changes and familiar routines fall away.
Coping with chronic illness, medical events, and the emotional weight of a changing body.
Social isolation, family and relationship concerns, and distress around life transitions.
How it works
Starting is more straightforward than most people expect.
Many people reach out for themselves. Others are pointed here by a doctor, a family member, or a discharge planner after a hospital or rehabilitation stay. However you arrive, it starts with a call or an email.
Sessions are scheduled at the office in Louisville or by telehealth anywhere in Kentucky and Indiana — whichever is easier.
Services are available to clients with Medicare Part B or a Medicare Advantage plan. Benefits are verified before the first session, so you know where you stand up front.
The goal is real: stronger coping skills, relief from depression and anxiety, room to process grief, and better overall well-being.
About Melanie
My therapeutic style is warm, relational, and grounded in creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can be fully themselves while navigating life transitions and emotional challenges. I take a solution-focused, insight-oriented approach that blends empathy, practical support, and gentle guidance to help build clarity, resilience, and a stronger sense of self.
I've been drawn to helping others since childhood, fueled by a servant's heart and a gift for attunement and empathy. When I'm not working, I'm deeply family-oriented and treasure quality time with the people I love.
